House numbers, easy to find and clearly visible, are first rate safety measures. Timely and effective emergency help is ensured by posting large house numbers where responders can see them. Numbers can be on mailboxes, over doors with adequate lighting, and painted on the curb as well. House numbers should be at least 4 inches high and be easily seen from the street.
