Former Columbus School Site Redevelopment Public Meeting

You’re invited! The City of Rome is hosting an open-house style public meeting on Wednesday, December 3^rd, 2025 from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Pinti Field Clubhouse (201 Sixth Street) to gather public input on future use(s) of the former Columbus School site.

The City was successful in receiving funding from the New York State Department of State Brownfield Opportunity Area Program to progress the recommendation from the Downtown Rome Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) revitalization strategy to redevelop the former Columbus School site. The funding is being used to conduct a feasibility analysis to determine the most appropriate and feasible potential future use(s) of the site.

The public is encouraged to stop by the Pinti Field Clubhouse anytime between 5:30pm and 7:30pm to meet with City representatives and project consultants to view and discuss potential redevelopment ideas for the vacant site.
