The City of Rome will be hosting its annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Veterans Park, on the corner of James and Court Street.

This year’s festivities will start at 6 p.m., but families are encouraged to visit the Trinkaus Village display early. Due to the construction happening within Veterans and Gansevoort Parks, part of the Trinkaus Village display will be located at Fort Stanwix Park, 186 Fort Stanwix Park.

The tree lighting and fireworks will be set off between 6:50 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Other entertainment that will occur at this event include live music from Scott Rutledge, a short performance of Central New York Academy of Dance’s first Holiday Showcase, food truck options from Brake from the Grind, Arizona Tacos, Food Zone, and Grill ‘Em All, hot cocoa from The Grand Rehabilitation & Nursing, fireworks and a special appearance by Mr. and Mrs. Claus!

Following the firework display, there will be photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Rome Historical Society.

Only severe inclement weather will cancel this event, which will have no rain date.
