The Water and Sewer department of Department of Public works maintains the water and sewer system in the City of Rome, which include the following:

• Repair leaks from service leaks to main breaks
• Repair sanitary and storm sewers
• Repair/Reset/Install manholes and catch basins
• Repair, service and install Fire Hydrants
• Hydrant and water main flushing
• Replace broken main line valves
• Repair, test, replace water meters
• Quarterly meter reading
• Locate all of our utilities for contractors
• Member of Dig Safely New York
• Weekly/Monthly sewer flushing
• Routine flushing of catch basins and storm lines
